Latest OECD Global Forum Peer Reviews

The OECD has just released 12 new peer reviews conducted through its Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes.

You can see the report from the OECD release of yesterday here. The report is titled Breaking News! Jurisdictions move towards full transparency. See Richard Murphy's comments here.

The report also gives an overview of the Global Forum and the peer review process. This process was put into place after the white/grey/black list scenario by which abusive jurisdictions were deemed cooperative enough to be on the white list by virtue of having exchanged 12 Tax Information Exchange Agreements (TIEA's) with other jurisdictions. We've blogged extensively on the blatant fig-leafism of TIEA's.

We are watching and analysing the peer reviews, and we will comment later.

The latest peer reviews are on Andorra, Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Austria, Bahrain, British Virgin Islands, CuraƧao, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Saint Kitts and Nevis,Turks and Caicos Islands, and the United Kingdom.

For the TJN view on transparency of jurisdictions, see the Financial Secrecy Index.
