Germany wants to renegotiate Swiss tax deal
Germany may be waking up to the appallingly pernicious nature of its tax deal with Switzerland, which we have analysed in great detail. This, from Spiegel magazine, so far only in German (with a rough web translation here).
Our analysis of the tax deal, and why it will not capture even a small fraction of the revenues that have been promised, stands absolutely rock solid in the face of numerous efforts to pooh-pooh it.
Spiegel has few details, but it seems to be saying that the Germans want to renegotiate the number of requests it can make in a year. That is a minor part of the problem; if that is all they want to renegotiate, then they cannot have read our report yet.
We will bring you more on this soon.
